Teshome W. Admassu is a highly accomplished international development professional with over 20 years of expertise in sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, positive youth development, and social inclusion. His career is marked by significant contributions, including leading USAID-funded projects, shaping national adolescent health strategies, and driving gender and youth integration in development programs.

With extensive experience in grant management, program design, project management, strategic planning, and policy advocacy, Teshome has successfully led multi-million-dollar, multi-country initiatives funded by USAID, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and other prominent donors. He has demonstrated transformative leadership while working with renowned organizations such as USAID, EngenderHealth, the Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC), and the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP).

Teshome has worked across Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Nepal, and Mozambique, implementing cross-sectoral programs that address systemic barriers to health and development. His achievements include pioneering the youth-to-youth model for adolescent health, a groundbreaking approach that has been successfully replicated in multiple countries, and advancing gender and youth integration in global health initiatives, setting new standards for inclusive development.

Holding advanced academic credentials—an MBA in Healthcare Management and an MSc in Social Development Planning and Management—Teshome combines technical expertise with deep cultural and contextual understanding.
